Mitch Colapinto has been a teacher for 13 years and a lifeguard for 20. His first few years teaching first grade, he would take his students and their parents to the beach and teach them how to surf. Several parents suggested he continue to offer lessons to children in town.

His passion for surfing, combined with his patience for teaching children, were the perfect formula. Hence, Mitch founded Cola’s Surf Camp in 1998, the same summer he completed his masters in education and his first son was born!

We employ about 22 people each summer. Several have worked with us since the beginning and are considered an important part of the team. Our employees bring youthful exuberance and creativity to the camp; creating new games such as, Pirate Obstacle Course and Fashion Show Day. The campers love it as much as we do! It is important to the staff and directors of Cola's Surf Camp to create, not only a safe environment for the children, but also a most fun and excellent adventure!
